The Gold Update speaks to its typical “seasonal sluggishness” as we now laze through the Dog Days of August; both the weekly and daily parabolic trends for Gold remain Long, however the latter has little downside room with which to work: currently 3393, the daily “flip-to-Short” price for today is 3365, well within range given’s Gold’s EDTR (see Market Ranges) of 48 points. Q2 Earnings Seasons has concluded: for the S&P 500, whilst 79% of the constituents beat estimates, 67% actually improved from Q2 a year ago; that’s a pip above the average of 66% generally improving from 2017-to-date.
